The hCG quantitative test measures the exact amount of human chorionic gonadotropin in your blood. hCG is a hormone produced during pregnancy, so this test is often used to confirm pregnancy and monitor its progression. Unlike a simple urine pregnancy test, which just shows positive or negative, this blood test gives a level. It can help determine how far along the pregnancy is. In some cases, this can also indicate other medical issues.
