IgG and IgE Food Antibody Panels:

1. IgG Food Antibody Panel:
The IgG panel is a blood test that aims to identify potential food sensitivities by measuring IgG antibodies. People often explore this to find links between foods and symptoms like digestive issues, fatigue, or headaches.

What's Included:

Typically, this panel tests reactions to a wide range of foods, including common allergens like dairy, gluten, nuts, and seafood, as well as various fruits, vegetables, grains, and meats.

2. IgE Food Antibody Panel:
This blood test panel focuses on testing for immediate allergic reactions, which are typically what we think of as "true" food allergies. People might experience symptoms like hives, swelling, or anaphylaxis shortly after eating a food that triggers an IgE response.

What's Included:

The IgE panel tests for specific IgE antibodies to common allergenic foods.

Differences between IgG and IgE:

IgG (Immunoglobulin G):
- Focus: Food sensitivities or delayed reactions.
- Characteristics: Responses can take hours to days to manifest.
- Symptoms: Often linked to chronic, non-specific symptoms like bloating, headaches, or fatigue.

IgE (Immunoglobulin E):
- Focus: Immediate allergic reactions.
- Characteristics: Responses are rapid, often within minutes to a couple of hours.
- Symptoms: Can include hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, or anaphylaxis.

Why Consider These Panels:

1. Symptom Identification: Some individuals use these panels to help identify potential food triggers that might be contributing to unexplained symptoms.

2. Personalized Nutrition: For those looking to tailor their diet for better health outcomes, these tests can provide a starting point for dietary adjustments.

3. Allergy Management: IgE testing is crucial for diagnosing true food allergies, which can be life-threatening if not managed properly.
